Hüttschlag: Kreuzeck (2,204 m)
From the Hallmoosalm you cross the field to the junction to the Karteisalm, which is not farmed. There is a pleasant walk through the forest to this mountain hut.
From the Karteisalm you go upwards through wide alpine meadows to the Kreuzeck. From here you have a beautiful view to the surrounding mountains.
For your descent, you can either take the trail along the ascent trail or you ski from the summit to the left, towards Ragglalm.
This tour is feasible from the early winter until spring - if there is sufficient snow. Also in case of not that good weather this tour is feasible. As this tour is not too difficult, it is also suitable for beginners.
After a tour, many tour guides meet at Aschaustüberl. There is a tour book and most of the time you can meet other tour guides and exchange your experience.

Turn-by-turn directions
ASCENT: From the Hallmossalm over a meadow to the forestry road, where you turn left after approx. 200 m. From there follow the marked path to the Karteisalm, 1.661 m - continue through a shady larch forest to a small plateau. From here the summit of the Kreuzeck, 2,204 m, is already visible. The summit rise is overcome with a few long drawn serpetines. Alternatively, you can take the plateau to the right onto the summit ridge, however, you must pay attention to the risk of avalanches, approx. 2 1/2 h.
DESCENT: Along the ascent route to the Karteisalm and the Hallmoosalm or from the summit to the left over the ridge to the Ragglalm. From here take the forestry road back to the starting point, the Hallmoosalm, approx. 1 h.
