Grossarl: Gretchen-Ruhe
From the village center in Grossarl, you walk along the river to the Hubdorf. You pass the "Gretchen-Ruhe" Hut. The path leads along the edge of the meadow to the edge of the forest. From here you have a nice view to the Gretchen-Ruhe-cascade. The path leads upwards through the forest.
The hiking trails "Gretchen-Ruhe" and "Hertas-Rast" were named after the two ladies, who were called Grete and Herta, as acknowledgment of pioneering in tourism in Grossarl (they were among the first guests and spent over 50 summer holidays within the valley).
You walk downwards on the Bergstrasse, where you pass the inn Schützenhof. You should try some dishes of wild game there. From here you have a beautiful view to Grossarl.
At the farm Reitbauer, you have the possibility to walk downwards along the path to Grossarl or you have the possibility to take the Bergstrasse.
