You hike from the Sonneggbrücke along the forestry road or the shortcuts through the forest to the Breitenebenalm. Just before you reach the Breitenebenalm, there is a game reserve.
The Breitenebenalm is particularly popular for its sweets. You can enjoy them on the huge terrace. There is a playground for the children.
First, you hike along the hiking path, then along the forestry road to the Grosswildalm. On this mountain hut you should try their self-made delicacies.
You ascend to the Penkkopf. From there you have a wonderful view to the Hochkönig, the Tennengebirge and the Hagengebirge and to the Hohe Tauern.
You hike down via the Promaualm and the Oberwandalm (both closed) to the Karseggalm. The Karseggalm is probably one of the most rustic huts in the whole alpine area and with its 400 years it is one of the oldest. You can enjoy self-made delicacies up there.
After a rest you descend to the Breitenebenalm and back to the starting point of the tour.

You go by car or hiking taxi via the Sonneggweg to the Sonneggbrücke and you continue to the parking Breitenebenalm.
You hike along the forestry road no. 67 or via the shortcuts through the forest (no. 70B) to the Breitenebenalm, 1,420 m (approx. 3/4 h, until here going up by car is possible). You ascend along the path no. 67 to the Grosswildalm, 1,778 m (approx. 1 1/4 h). You hike up to the Penkkopf, 2,011 m (approx. 1 h). Descent via the Promaualm, 1,858 m and the Oberwandalm (both closed) to the Karseggalm, 1,603 m (about 1 1/4 h). Descent on the path no. 70 to the Breitenebenalm (approx. 1/2 h). Then you descend to the parking lot.
