The hiking tour starts in Ellmautal at the parking space Grund. Along a hiking path you come to the Filzmoosalm. This hut is situated in the intact nature. Between some cliffy mountains there are lots of alpine meadows. You can get self-made delicacies like bread, butter, cheese or bacon on the Filzmoosalm. Along the hiking path after the Filzmoosalm you see a lot of Swiss stone pines, which are typically for the Ellmautal.

The hiking path takes you to the Filzmoossattel. Here you find a big gentian, which is the symbol of the Salzburger Almenweg. The way from the Filzmoossattel to the Filzmoosalm is one part of the Salzburger Almenweg. You hike further to the Filzmooshöhe, where a very special summit cross was built up. Now you can see the majestetic Draugstein if you turn around.

You hike along the Ellmautal-Höhenweg to the Stangersattel. In this area are lots of small tarns as well as blueberries and cranberries.

Then you come to the Remsteinkopf. From there you descend to the Bichlalm. There you have picturesque view to Grossarltal. Just above the Bichlalm there is a cross, where every year a mountain mass is hold.

All the hungry hikers enjoy a delicious snack on the Bichlalm. Sometimes the "Hirter" (the man, who is responsible that everything works on the hut) plays with his harmonica.

After your break you have to hike down to Grossarl. At first you hike along the way until the crossroad or better the crosspaths. Please turn around again - this panorama is unique. Then you have to decide if you prefer the steep possibility along the Himmelsleiter to the farm Finsterwald and further to Grossarl or you take the possibility which is not that steep to the Hotel Lammwirt.
