The special thing about this tour is that you can discover a wide variety of alpine huts as well as the fantastic mountains of Grossarltal. The route as a whole is very demanding, but there are always cosy huts and beautiful places for a break and a delicious snack.

Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts at the Grossarler Genuss and leads up the Sonneggweg. After approx. 2.7 km turn right towards the Saukaralm. The route now leads 700 hm serpentine to the Saukaralm, the first intermediate destination of the tour. The trail then descends a short distance along the same path. Before the barrier, take the right-hand path towards the Grosswildalm and Karseggalm. At the crossroads after approx. 4.5 km, turn right to the Großwildalm and enjoy the fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. Then head back to the fork, over to the Karseggalm. After another 5 minutes you reach the next hut, the Unterwandalm. From the Unterwandalm, it's about 1.5 km slightly downhill, just right to enjoy the fantastic view, before you climb the last 100 hm to the Maurachalm. From now on you follow the route downhill, first along the same path and downhill towards Sonneggbrücke. Afterwards you return to the valley. As a last stop, you can stop at the Hoamalm and enjoy local delicacies.
