Grossarl: Maurachalm
After the bistro (Grossarler Genuss), you cycle upwards. You pass some houses and farms, then you reach the Sonneggbrücke, which is a very popular starting point for many hikes. You cycle along the forestry road, the most time through the forest. You pass the Hochbruckhütte (closed). At the intersection, keep in the direction to Maurachalm.
From here, you cycle along alpine meadows. The first mountain hut is the Muggenfeldalm (closed), the second the Maurachalm. At the Maurachalm you will be pampered with delicacies from their own production.
The Maurachalm is the most northern mountain hut in the Grossarltal and is particularly known for the exquisite schnapps (Vogelbeer or Holler). The people on the mountain hut sometimes sing and play music.
