The Salzburger Almenweg is a long-distance hike through the Pongau mountain world. This hiking path is under the motto "From hut to hut on the trail of the gentian. The 17th stage from the Draugsteinalmen to the Ellmaualm bears the name: "Broad valley basin, rustic huts and meadows in bloom".
With the option to stage 17, you can see exactly this, however from above. The hiking tour leads from summit to summit.
After a hearty breakfast on the Ellmaualm you hike up to the Gründegg. A small detour on route no. 64 to the Trögseen is always a good hint. These are small mountain lakes - the landscape is unique. Ascent to the mountain ridge through magnificent alpine meadows, then hike along the ridge to the Gründegg. From here you can enjoy a beautiful panorama view. On one side you can see the Hohe Tauern on the other side the Hochkönig as well as the Tennengebirge and the Hagengebirge.
Continue along the mountain ridge to the Penkkopf and Kitzstein (Gabel). Accompanied by a splendid panorama, you hike from peak to peak. Via Sonntagskogel you will reach Wagrain to Grafenbergbahn. You can then take the Grafenbergbahn to the valley.
Here is Wagraini's Grafenberg - a real paradise for all children.
Wagraini's Grafenberg is a large playing ground on the mountain and would therefore also work as a meeting place when one parent is hiking and the other is doing something with the children.
Safety informationOn the whole route, you will not pass a mountain hut, so take enough beverages with you.
