On the second day you will be awakened by cow bells and freshly strengthened by a delicious alpine breakfast. The hike starts uphill to the Filzmoossattel and to the Filzmooshöhe. The summit cross here is designed with great attention to detail. Looking back, you can see the mighty Draugstein. Hike up to the Filzmooshörndl, from where you have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and a fantastic summit experience. The descent takes place on a bautiful hiking trail to the Filzmoosalm. On this path you pass numerous pine trees. Then it goes along the Ellmautal-Almsteig over the Loosbühelalm to the Weissalm or the Ellmaualm. The overnight stay is planned on one of the two mountain huts.

Alternatively, you can walk along the Ellmautal-Höhenweg on the second day.

Author’s recommendation

As an alternative to the traditional "Brettljause" on the mountain huts, there are also several different hot dishes on the Loosbühelalm.
