A forest path (or alternatively the Hubalm hiking trail) leads from the center of Hüttschlag through the high forest. Just before leaving the forest, there is a small chapel on the right. Shortly before the chapel you must take the path on the left. At a pond just before the Hirschgrubenalm, a resting place was built in 2005 by students from the Großarl secondary school. The first place to rest and strengthen yourself with products from own production is the Hirschgrubenalm. It continues on a rustic, natural alpine path to the Aschlreitalm (not serviced). From here through forest-free alpine pastures on the trail uphill to the ridge, which offers a magnificent view of the Keeskogel glacier, 2,884 m, the highest mountain in the entire Grossarltal. A path leads over the Hühnerkarscharte to the Hühnerkaralm. Delicacies from own production are served to the hikers. The next day it's a little steeper downhill to the Hub-Grundalm, then ascent to the Vorderkaseralm and the Roßkarkopfscharte. Descent to the Reitalm where the children can expect a large playground with a pond and petting animals. A good snack with homemade delicacies such as bread, butter, cheese, bacon or sausage awaits the adults. Of course, a shot of homemade schnapps should not be missing. On the last day, a leisurely hiking trail to Hüttschlag returns to the starting point.
