You hike a marvellous round trip and you reach 4 mountain huts.
From the center of Hüttschlag you hike along the forest road (or alternatively, along the Hubalm trail) through the forest until the chapel. Just before the chapel you have to take the road on the left. On a pond just before the Hirschgrubenalm a resting place was constructed in 2005 by students of the secondary school Grossarl.
First resting and strengthening opportunity with self-made products is the Hirschgrubenalm.
You continue on a natural path to the Aschlreitalm (closed). Here is the next opportunity to enjoy specialties such as bread, butter, cheese, sausage or bacon.
Then you hike on alpine meadows to the crest. From here you have a magnificent view to the glaciers of the Keeskogel, 2,884 m, which is the highest mountain in the whole Grossarl Valley. You hike to the Hühnerkarscharte and descend to the Hühnerkaralm. You you can also enjoy self-made delicacies. Quite a steep trail leads down to the Hubalm, where you can once again taste self-made delicacies.
The area of the Hubalm is one of the richest game areas in Grossarltal. If you are lucky you can see a deer...
You hike quite comfortably on the forest road (or on the newly constructed trail) back to the village center of Hüttschlag, which is the start point of the tour.
The view from the Hühnerkarscharte to the Keeskogel , the highest mountain and only glacier in Grossarltal is simply unique. Here you feel close to heaven ...
