Grossarl: Saukaralm
From the village center of Grossarl, a path leads through the forest to Hertas Rast. Hertas Rast was named after pioneers of the tourism in Grossarl.
You hike up to the Vorderstadluck farm. Until there, you can also go up by car or hiking taxi. The hiking path leads through meadows and finally alpine meadows to the Gerstreitalm. Especially children have their fun here at the big playground. After your break with self-made delicacies, you hike upwards to the Röschenbergalm (closed.)
Through beautiful alpine meadows you reach the Saukaralm. This mountain hut is the highest mountain hut in Grossarltal. The view from here is simply unique. You can see the Hohe Tauern, the Hochkönig as well as the Tennengebirge and the Hagengebirge. Sunsets on the Saukaralm are particularly impressive.
