Grossarl: Gerstreitalm
The way "Hertas Rast" through the forest starts directly in the village center of Grossarl. This way got its name because the name of the wife of tourism pioneers in Grossarl were Herta and Grete. Therefore the way was named after Herta. There is also a hiking path which is called Gretchen Ruhe. After the forest you hike on alpine meadows to the Gerstreitalm. Children find there paradise at the playground. And all the hikers are spoiled with self-made delicacies such as bread, butter, cheese or bacon.
You can reach the Gerstreialm also via the Heugathalm. There you hike along the forestry road.
