This hiking tour starts in the Ellmautal at Grund - parking possibility. You hike up on a path through the forest and then over alpine meadows to the Ellmaualm. From the Ellmaualm you have a great panoramic view to the Hochkönig.
Further you hike along the Salzburger Almenweg without any great rise to the Weißalm. You stay on the same way and hike to the Loosbühelalm, where you can taste besides cheese made out of milk from cows, goat's cheese.
You hike further to the Filzmoosalm. This mountain hut is situated in beautiful alpine surroundings.
You can taste delicacies on all the 4 mountain huts and you can hike down to the Grund (start point of the tour) in about 1 1/4 h from every montain hut.

You go by car or public bus into the Ellmautal to Grund - parking possibility. You hike up on the way nr. 62 to the Großellmau-Heimalm (closed) and further on the same way to the Ellmaualm, 1.794 m (about 1 1/2 h). From here you hike along the "Ellmautal-Almsteig" (nr. 63) to the Weißalm, 1.723 m (about 1/2 h) and further to the Loosbühelalm, 1.769 m (about 1 /2 h). The trail goes further to the Achtalm, 1.742 m (closed) and to the Filzmoosalm, 1.710 m (about 1 h). Descent on the way nr. 57, 720 to Grund, which is the start point of the tour.
You can hike down to Grund from every of these 4 mountain huts in about 1 1/4 h.
By road
You go by car or public bus no. 540 to Grossarl and you turn left between the Hotel Alte Post and the Spar to the Ellmautal to Grund.Parking
