Grossarl: Breitenebenalm - Grosswildalm - Saukaralm
You hike from the Sonneggbrücke along the forestry road or the shortcuts through the forest to the Breitenebenalm. Just before you reach the Breitenebenalm, there is a game reserve. The Breitenebenalm is particularly popular for its sweets. You can enjoy them on the huge terrace. There is a playground for the children.
First, you hike along the hiking path, then along the forestry road to the Grosswildalm. On this mountain hut you should try their self-made delicacies.
You continue and pass the Kleinwildalm and the Spatalm (both closed). You hike through beautiful alpine meadows to the Saukaralm. This mountain hut is the highest mountain hut in Grossarltal. There the view and the panorama are really awesome. You can see the Hohe Tauern, the Hochkönig and the Tennen- and Hagengebirge.

You go by car or hiking taxi via the Sonneggweg to the Sonneggbrücke and you continue to the parking Breitenebenalm. You hike along the forestry road no. 67 or via the shortcuts through the forest (no. 70B) to the Breitenebenalm, 1,420 m (approx. 3/4 h, until here going up by car is possible). You ascend along the path no. 67 to the Grosswildalm, 1,778 m (approx. 1 1/4 h).
You follow the path no.r 63 to the Kleinwildalm, 1,806 m (approx 1/4 h, closed) and the Spatalm, 1,808 m (approx. 1/2 h). In the Spatkar you take the path no. 64 ("Ellmautal-Höhenweg") to the Saukaralm, 1,850 m (approx. 1 h).
You descend from the Saukaralm along the forestry road (no. 65B). You reach the Sonneggweg after approx. 1 1/2 - 2 h. From here, you hike up this street to the starting point of the tour.
