There are several possibilities how you can reach the Bichlalm: The easiest possibility starts in the Ellmautal, above the Hotel Lammwirt. There you hike quite comforable along the forestry road through the forest. The sportier option starts at the Finsterwald farm (or directly in the village center of Grossarl - approx. 1 h from Grossarl to the Finsterwald farm). You reach the Bichlalm via the Himmelsleiter. The name of this hiking paths gives information about the nature of this path. How else could you get faster to heaven? This hiking path is relatively steep.
Just at the point where you reach the forestry road, you shoudl stop for a while. The panorama view is simply unique.
You continue along the forestry road to the Bichlalm. Here you are spoiled with self-made delicacies such as bread, butter, bacon or cheese. For the children there is a small playground.
Above the Bichlalm, there is a cross.

Turn-by-turn directions
You go by car or public bus no. 541 to the Ellmautal to Hotel Lammwirt. Then you turn left at the Güterweg Jaitlehen and go by car until the barrier. From here you hike up the forestry road no. 56A to the Bichlalm, 1,731 m (approx. 2 h).
OPTION: You go to Ellmautal and turn left at the first crossing to the Güterweg Thalgau and go until the Finsterwald farm. From here you hike up the Himmelsleiter (path no. 56) to the forestry road (no. 56A) and you follows this route to the Bichlalm, 1,731 m (approx. 1 1/2 - 2 h).
Back on the same route or on the option. Above the Finsterwald farm, there is a connection of the both possibilities.

Getting there
