Great hiking tour from Grossarl to the Filzmoossattel, the Draugsteintörl and to the Lake Tappenkar. Then you hike down to the Jägersee in Kleinarl.
This hiking tour starts at the end of the Ellmautal, which is the largest side valley of Grossarltal. Starting point is the car parking Grund. You reach the Filzmoosalm on a beautiful hiking path (or alternatively via the forestry road). This mountain hut is situated in an untouched natural landscape. The wide alpine pastures and meadows are limited on the one side by grass-covered mountain peaks and on the other side by the limestones of the Draugstein and the Grosser Schneibenstein.
After a little refreshment with homemade delicacies you hike upwards, where you pass lots of Swiss stone pine trees. Finally you reach the Filzmoossattel. Directly at the Filzmoossattel, there is a beautifully designed gentian, the symbol of the Salzburger Almenweg, which also includes the part from the Filzmoosalm to the Tappenkarsee.
You continue to the Draugsteintörl. From here you have already a beautiful view of the Lake Tappenkar, the largest mountain lake in the Eastern Alps. You descend to the Tappenkarseehütte. Here you can also enjoy warm delicacies such as Kaiserschmarrn.
You continue along the Lake Tappenkar to the Tappenkarseealm. In several serpentines the path leads down to the Schwabalm, from here it is possible to take the hiking taxi back to Grossarltal. Then a forestry road leads to the Jägersee. The Jägersee is a popular destination for young and old. From here you can take the public bus back to Grossarltal.
Just 10 min above the Filzmoossattel is the Filzmooshöhe, where there is a beautiful summit cross.
This hiking tour ends in Kleinarl. You have to go back by taxi or public transport to Grossarltal.
